Admin rights

Telegram bot permissions

What Limzo needs, why it needs it, and how to fix missing permissions.

Required for moderation

To delete spam or suspicious messages, Limzo needs Delete messages. To mute or restrict offenders, Limzo needs Ban users / Restrict members.

Required for analytics too

Admin status is not optional, even for stats only: Telegram delivers group messages to a bot only once it is an admin, and admin rights are also what let Limzo read group metadata, admin lists, linked channels, member counts, and permission state. Added without admin rights, Limzo explains what it needs and leaves the group rather than sitting there collecting nothing.

How to update

Telegram group → Manage Group → Administrators → Limzo → enable the needed rights. Then reopen Limzo Settings.

If individual rights are missing

While Limzo is still an admin, it keeps tracking everything it can and simply shows the affected moderation actions as unavailable until the rights are restored.

If Limzo is removed as admin

Demoting Limzo to a plain member stops moderation and reliable tracking, so it does not stay indefinitely: it sends an admin a private heads-up and steps out of the group after a 24-hour grace period. Re-promote it inside that window and nothing is lost — your settings and history stay exactly as they were.
