Telegram boost calculator

Telegram’s Boosts screen only tells you what the next level costs. Enter your member count to see how many boosts your group or channel needs for every level, and what each level unlocks.

Groups need ten times more boosts per member than channels.

How many boosts does a group need?

The bigger the group, the more each level costs. Some examples, using the same formula as the calculator:

MembersLevel 1Level 4 (emoji pack)Level 6 (voice-to-text)Level 10
1003101550
500114263210
1,0002182123410
5,0001014026032,010
10,0002018021,2034,010

Channels are ten times cheaper: a 1,000-subscriber channel reaches level 1 with 3 boosts and level 10 with 50.

How the boost formula works

Telegram doesn’t publish it, but it has been measured. For a group:

  1. Factor = members ÷ 25, rounded down, + 1. Channels divide by 250 instead.
  2. Levels 1–8: factor × level ÷ 2, rounded up.
  3. Level 9: factor × 7.
  4. Level 10 and up: factor × level.

The @tginfo team first measured the formula in May 2025. We checked it against Telegram’s own Boosts screen on 7 October 2026: a 29-member group needed 1 boost for level 1, and a 5,826-member group needed 117. Both match exactly.

Telegram can change the formula at any time. The exact number for your next level is always on your group’s Boosts screen: open the group profile → ⋮ → Boost Group.

Where boosts come from

  • Premium members. Only Telegram Premium users can boost. Share your group’s boost link (t.me/yourgroup?boost) or ask them to tap Boost on the group profile. The Boosts screen shows roughly how many of your members have Premium.
  • Gifting Premium. Admins who gift Telegram Premium get 3 boosts per gift to assign to the group.
  • Giveaways. You can run a Premium giveaway from the same Boosts screen.
  • Boosts end with Premium. A boost lasts as long as the booster’s Premium subscription. If it isn’t renewed, the boost ends and the group can drop a level.
  • Perks for boosters. Admins can let members who boost skip slow mode and other chat restrictions.

Thank the people who boost

Boosts only come from members who pay for Premium, so make sure they get the credit. With Limzo as an admin, every boost is recorded: your boosters appear on a Boosters wall of fame on the group’s public stats page with their boost-days, they earn the ⚡ Booster achievement, and past boosters keep their credit after the boost ends.

Common questions

About one boost per 50 members: take the factor (members ÷ 25, rounded down, + 1), halve it and round up. A 100-member group needs 3, a 1,000-member group needs 21.
Telegram scales group levels ten times more steeply: groups divide the member count by 25, channels divide the subscriber count by 250. A 1,000-member group needs 410 boosts for level 10; a 1,000-subscriber channel needs 50.
No. Telegram only shows the boosts needed for your next level. The formula was measured by @tginfo and matched Telegram’s own Boosts screen on two real groups in October 2026, but Telegram can change it. Your Boosts screen always has the final word.
Yes. A boost lasts as long as the booster’s Telegram Premium subscription. If they don’t renew, the boost ends and the group can lose a level.
