Giveaways: how Limzo picks the winners

Run a giveaway in your Telegram group: you set the prize and the rules, members tap Join, and Limzo picks the winners from the group’s own activity.

How a giveaway works

Open the Limzo Mini App → Giveaways, write the prize, choose how the winners are picked and who can win, and tap Start the giveaway. Limzo posts it in the group with a 🎉 Join button. Every member who taps it gets a private pop-up saying whether they are in and what is still missing. At the end — the day and hour you chose, in the group’s timezone — Limzo posts the winners. Running giveaways is part of Pro and Ultra; the preview of who would qualify works on every plan.

Four ways to pick the winners

Choose one method per giveaway:

  • Weighted raffle — 1 ticket for joining, plus the karma each member earns during the giveaway, up to 25 a day. More tickets mean better odds, but anyone who qualifies can win.
  • Most active win — the members with the most messages (or karma) during the giveaway win. A tie goes to the other number, then to whoever joined first.
  • Random draw — everyone who qualifies has the same chance.
  • Admins pick — you choose the winners from the members who joined and qualify, and the results post says the admins chose them.

Whatever the method, the numbers come straight from the chat: admins can’t change them.

Who can win

Admins can’t win unless you allow it. You can also ask for a minimum number of messages during the giveaway, a minimum number of days in the group and a minimum badge, and let recent winners sit out for 1 to 8 weeks. In the raffle you can give 10% more tickets per badge level above the first. Members who left the group never win. Before you start, tap Preview who qualifies: it shows the last 7 days as if everyone had joined, with each member’s odds.

Tickets are earned, never bought

Entering is always free. Tickets can’t be bought, sold or traded — they come only from karma earned in the group, and the daily cap stops one burst of activity from deciding the result. When the giveaway ends, Limzo freezes every entrant’s numbers and stores the random seed of the draw with the result, so the outcome can be checked later.

Results, Claim and redraws

With public results, Limzo names the winners in the group with a Claim button. A winner taps it within the time you chose (12 hours to 7 days), a ✅ appears next to their name, and the admins get a private note. If a winner doesn’t claim in time, Limzo draws someone else from the remaining entrants who qualify — up to 3 times per place — for the raffle, the random draw and most active; with Admins pick, you decide. With private results, the group only sees that the giveaway is over, and the admins receive the winners in a private message. The group’s public stats page shows the latest public results, including every entrant’s numbers; private groups don’t show giveaways there.

The prize comes from you

Limzo runs the giveaway, never the prize. It doesn’t hold, send or guarantee prizes, and it never messages members privately — not to announce a win, not to ask for details. Contact your winners yourself, and tell your members that anyone writing to them as “Limzo” about a prize is a scammer.

Reminder, weekly repeat and the Hall of fame

For giveaways of 2 days or more, Limzo posts a reminder with a Join button 24 hours before the end (you can switch it off). Turn on Repeat every week and a new giveaway with the same settings starts once the winners are posted; the chain stops if you cancel or the plan lapses. To reward last week’s most active members instead, use Reward last week’s top 3: one tap posts the finished week’s Hall of fame podium as winners. A group runs one giveaway at a time.
